A general practitioner (GP) is a trained doctor responsible for diagnosing and treating people who are dealing with any type of disease or illness. Our Glenroy General Practitioners usually see patients at the start of their treatment. A GP not only provides medical care for immediate relief but also guides overall health and well-being. A General Practitioner in Glenroy at Magnus Medical doesn’t just focus on one disease or part of the body. Instead, they can handle a wide range of health issues, while a specialist only focuses on a specific condition or area.
Many diseases can be assessed by our Glenroy general practitioners at Magnus Medical. Here we have listed diseases that can be assessed by our general practitioners:
Our experienced and friendly doctors, nurses and admin staff are all dedicated to giving you the highest quality in medical care, we offer a wide range of services.
Our medical centre is a mixed billing practice. This means there will be a $40 out–of–pocket gap fee for most GP consultations. Patients are required to pay our full practice fees on the day, and will then receive a Medicare rebate for the relevant MBS item number back into their account.
Patients who have a concession card (Health Care, Pension, DVA, Seniors Health Care), and all children under 16 who have Medicare are fully Bulk Billed and will have no out–of–pocket fees for GP consultations in most cases.
Government funded health initiatives such as Care Plans (Non Mental Health related) and Health Assessments are also fully Bulk Billed for everyone.
Some of our services that are not covered under Medicare will be privately charged to all patients – those with or without Medicare and concession cards, such as Procedures, Pre–Employment, Fitness & Driving Medicals.
Private patients who don't have Medicare but have private health insurance with GP cover (such as Allianz, NIB, Medibank or others) will be charged practice fees on the day, which they will have to claim back from their private health insurance upon providing them with our receipt. Private patients getting reimbursed for consultations is strictly conditional on agreements with their own providers, we kindly ask that you check with your private health insurance provider regarding the level of medical cover you have before attending our practice.
Procedures with our doctors and nurses range from $50 to $ 300 (Out of pocket), depending on the complexity, for all patients (including those with or without Medicare and Concession Cards), and the amount is not reimbursable nor is there a Medicare rebate for these appointments.
